The Baking Friend




I am now known as “the baking friend” and as sad as this is, it makes me really happy 😊. Over the last few days my friends have been asking about what I’ve baked and what I’m baking next and it feels great to share my passion with them. I have even had people try the NYC cookie from my post which is great to see people enjoying it as much as me. 


Luckily my day off this week happened to be on the hottest day of the year (so far) and I had arranged to see my friends for the first time in months! I wanted to take something for our (socially distanced) garden gathering but I wasn’t sure anything would survive the 50 minute journey in 32 degree heat so instead I decided to bake white bread rolls. 



It was my second attempt at bread and it still amazes me how much the bread rises, I get all excited like a little school girl when I see the dough has doubled in size. The only thing I would try next time is to roll the dough into tighter balls as I felt the dough spread on the second prove rather than rise. However it had a good crust and a very satisfying hollow sound when tapping the bottom. 

I used the bbc good food recipe but if anyone has any other good bread recipes for me to try please share 🤎
