Me, myself and why
So this is something new for you and me to get our teeth stuck into.
Like many of you, over the course of lockdown I tried many an activity to keep myself busy and sane (in between making sure I still had a reasonable amount of time spare to do nothing) and I found passion and joy in trying out baking.
Despite both my parents being trained chefs, it’s never been something that has interested me (apart from eating all the yummy treats at weekends). But now that I have my own home and no pressures to make something perfect first time, I have loved sticking my music on and wearing my star baker apron (to give me that extra bit of courage) to try and create something that might resemble the recipe in front of me.
I am an incredibly passionate person in anything and everything I do and because of this I suffer badly from stress and anxiety due to the amount of pressure I put on myself. So I want to use this blog as a way to document my culinary journey, show off my tasty treats but share how I plan to use this as a tool to de-stress, escape work pressures and also allow myself to learn that whether I make the best loaf of bread in the world or if my Yorkshire puddings look more like space invaders (yes this has happened already) that it doesn’t matter and the only thing that is important is the fact I’m enjoying myself and trying something new.
Feel free to comment with advice, new recipes to try or share your own successes or lessons learnt.
Let’s see how this goes and as they say... practice bakes perfect 🤎
